summer

summer's almost over...
i think i spent most of it indoors.
it makes the most sense to not be in the scorching heat.
it's also kind of sad that i only went to the beach once out of the 3 times i went down to florida.
but then i'm not a big beach person. again, scorching heat.

this year, we're going to end it a week later, in ocean city, md.
the only thing on the agenda right now is jetski and crabs.
has anyone been there? suggestions? reccos?

btw, seattle is pretty boring and the space needle isn't all that tall.
it sure looks nice from hung's balcony though...

at least it didn't rain the week i was there. ha!

Ssam Bar - Bo Ssam

Ssam Bar, 207 2nd ave, ny ny 10003

file under: juicy tender pork gluttony

Bo Ssam: whole pork butt, dozen oysters, kimchi, kimchi puree, ginger and scallion puree, korean hot sauce, rice and lettuce

Paid: about $60 each (because of the beer and appetizers)

Rate: 8/10

We ordered this a few days in advance. Special order; the pork butt was braised for hours before we got there!

This is one of the most tender pork I've ever had, very flavorful too.

The starters were also delicious. Everyone is still talking about the scallion oil.
